Avid hunters around the state of Montana are well into their can't-wait-itchy pants-dances. And we get that.

In case you haven't already reviewed all or some very important upcoming dates that concern your hunting routines in August, September and October, here's a quick calendar to keep handy of some of the big days, compliments of Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks.

Aug. 15 - 900 archery season opened.

Aug. 19 - Special mountain lion drawing.

Sept. 1 - Turkey and upland game bird season (excluding pheasants) opens, along with special-permit sandhill crane opening.

Sept. 7 - ARCHERY antelope, bighorn sheep, deer, elk, black bear, wolf and mountain lion (without hounds).

Sept. 15 - Fall black bear, general bighorn sheep, moose, mountain goat and wolf, backcountry deer and elk (HDs 150, 151, 280, 316).

Sept. 21 - Upland and waterfowl youth weekend.

Oct. 12 - General antelope and pheasant openings.

Oct. 17 - Two-day youth deer hunt.
