BREAKING: Human Skeletal Remains Found in Missoula
Missoula, MT (KGVO-AM News) - On November 14, 2024, at around 3:29 PM, the Missoula County Sheriff's Office reported that human remains were found earlier that morning. Public Information Officer Jeanette Smith has the details.
"At approximately 9:22 a.m. this morning, Missoula County Sheriff’s Office Deputies and Detectives responded to a report of possible human skeletal remains near Southside Road," Smith said. "The remains were confirmed to be human, but identification cannot be made at this time."
Missoula County Sheriff’s Office Detectives have secured the scene for further investigation and have requested the assistance of the University of Montana Anthropology Department.
"At this time, Detectives are working to determine if the remains located on June 29, 2024, near Deep Creek Road, which results have not been received, and those found today, are related," Smith said. " The remains will be transported to the Montana State Medical Examiner in Billings for further review. This is an active investigation."
