Education is a key component to resolving Human-Bear Conflicts.  What makes it difficult is the constantly changing audience.  Humans build new residences in bear country or move into bear country without the background on how to be safe and Bear Aware.

Brian DeBolt is the Large Carnivore Conflict Coordinator for the Wyoming Game and Fish Department.  Today he shares some of the complications to the issue and the importance of conserving bears. 

There are lots of things people can do to reduce the chance of unwanted encounters with bears.  Safe hiking, keeping attractants from influencing bears, and keeping pets safe are all topics discussed on the Center for Wildlife website.
