In a study conducted in November to understand the needs of the homeless, nearly 89% of Missoula’s homeless population expressed a wish for permanent housing . CEO of united way, Susan Hay Patrick says last year 15% of their funding went to help the homeless.

Mayor John Engen believes there is a workable solution to help the homeless. 

 A key finding in the study was nearly half of the people interviewed were living in permanent housing when they became homeless.
