HAMILTON, Mont. (AP) — A Hamilton woman who pleaded guilty to proving alcohol to a minor and inhaling canned air with her children has been sentenced to 10 years in prison with five years suspended.

The Ravalli Republic reports (http://bit.ly/1VuAi0B ) 39-year-old Andrea Yvonne Hill was ordered Wednesday to undergo treatment offered by the Montana Department of Corrections.

Hill was arrested in May 2014 after giving alcohol to a 13-year-old boy who became ill. Prosecutors said she didn't seek medical treatment for the boy because she feared getting in trouble.

While she was out on bail, she allegedly inhaled propellants from canned air with her three young children.

Hill's attorneys said the 10 months their client has already served was sufficient punishment. The judge disagreed, saying Hill isn't ready to be out on probation.
