The Hamilton High School athletic complex has a higher profile now that the initial base and underpinnings of the bleachers have been erected at the construction site, south of Hamilton High School. A larger crowd will be possible when the project is complete. The main building housing locker rooms, concessions, announcer and coaches boxes is also beginning to take shape. The complex will also be able to take advantage of the large parking lot at the high school.

The project includes a new all-weather track, an artificial turf field and more. It is being financed by a portion of a $9 million levy passed by the Hamilton High School District voters. School officials are meeting weekly with Jackson Contractor Group as the work continues into the fall. It's possible that Haynes Field on the southwest edge of Hamilton will see a few more football games before construction is complete on the new field.
