Habitat for Humanity 10th Annual National Women Build Week in Missoula
Members of Missoula’s Lowe’s Home Improvement team will be among more than 80 volunteers to join Habitat for Humanity of Missoula to build decent and affordable housing as part of Habitat for Humanity’s 10th annual National Women Build Week, which is in progress now through the weekend.
Lowe’s helped launch National Women Build Week in 2008 to empower women to advocate for affordable housing and spotlight the home ownership challenges faced by many Missoulians. Women are invited to devote at least one day to help families build decent and affordable housing in Missoula.
Missoula’s Habitat officially kicks off its 26th build season this week with volunteers from First Interstate Bank, ATG, Wells Fargo, and many regular build site supporters. Habitat for Humanity of Missoula builds its 52nd and 53rd homes this year for two large, 5-member families. Lowe’s donated $2 million to Habitat’s 2017 National Women Build Week and will provide a $5,000 grant to Missoula’s Habitat for participating this week.
Local women, and all Missoulians, who would like to participate are invited to 2218 Burlington Avenue in the Franklin to the Fort neighborhood from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. today through Saturday. For more information, please visit the Habitat for Humanity of Missoula Facebook page.
