Congressman and Republican Gubernatorial candidate Greg Gianforte appeared in Missoula on Wednesday as part of a statewide tour with his running mate Kristin Juras to introduce their ‘Montana Comeback Plan’.

“As we all know, this Coronavirus has thrown us all a curveball,” began Gianforte. “It’s created a crisis in our economy with this shutdown and it’s left too many folks hurting. We have people out of a job without a paycheck through no fault of their own. Small businesses have had to close their doors, some for good and beef and grain prices have also suffered for our farmers and ranchers.”

Gianforte referenced the Right Now Technologies that he and his family started in Bozeman, opening over 500 high tech jobs, and then pointed to similar success stories here in Missoula.

“Right here in Missoula we have 80 high tech firms, and I’m pleased that last year  that high tech industry generated over $2 billion in revenue in the state, creating opportunities in Montanans so that more can stay and the ones that remain can prosper,” he said.
Gianforte asked voters to read the pair’s ‘Montana Comeback Plan’.

“Our comeback plan will get Montana open for business,” he said. “Our comeback plan will get people back to work in good-paying jobs, and our comeback plan also charts a course to change the way we do business in Helena. Starting with new leadership in state agencies to prioritizing customer service to get the government working for the people again. From holding the line on state spending to cutting taxes for all Montanans.”

Gianforte closed his opening statement by asking Montanans to work together to solve the state’s problems.

“Let’s address these challenges and solve the problems we face together,” he said. “I know we can get there by working together. I also firmly believe that our best days are ahead of us if we work together, so please join me in building a better Montana.”
