Four Free Friday Concerts in a Row in Hamilton
Summer evenings in Hamilton are perfect for sitting outside, listening to live music. The folks at Sapphire Lutheran Homes have become experts at bringing people together for music and food. Their summer series this year starts Friday, June 22, with the bluegrass band "Blue to the Bone" at the open area at Sapphire on North 10th in Hamilton. Dominic Farrenkopf told KLYQ that the music starts at 7 p.m., but he is encouraging you to come early to the $5 barbeque at 6 p.m. Then, during the show, $1 raffle tickets will be sold with some fun prizes. Of course, the Sapphire tradition is included - free ice cream bars at intermission.
The concerts continue with "Who Dat?" June 29 (with fireworks), Shodown on July 6, and the Cold Hard Cash Show on July 13. This is the sixth year that Sapphire Lutheran Homes retirement center has sponsored the concerts. They also are instrumental in bringing "Shakespeare in the Parks" to Hamilton. The troupe's performance of "Othello" will be August 14 at 6 p.m. Bring a blanket or lawn chairs and enjoy!
