Marie Dibble, a former social worker for Meadow Hill Middle School in Missoula was arrested and charged with felony criminal possession and distribution of dangerous drugs.

MCPS Communications Director Hatton Littman outlined the facts as they occurred.

“Last week on April 19, we alerted the media to the fact that an employee had resigned her employment at Meadow Hill Middle School,” Littman began. “Today, based on additional information that was uncovered about that person’s case proceeding through the legal system, we learned that there were additional illegal drugs in that person’s possession, and we wanted to continue to clearly assert that the individual, Marie Dibble, who served as a social worker from August of this school year until April, never to our knowledge possessed those drugs on our campus. She never showed up for work under the influence of any drugs. These alleged crimes appear to be a situation that was an adult problem which took place outside this individual’s work hours.”

Littman referenced the situation that occurred with the YMCA’s Learning Center and the contamination of its child care facility.

“Given the news about methamphetamine, heroin and hallucinogenic mushrooms which were found at the individual’s home, Missoula County Public Schools has decided, as a precautionary measure, to close that staff member’s office and we’re conducting swab testing to ensure that there is no contamination at the school site. We’re doing that as a precautionary measure. There is nothing that indicates that any of that material was ever at school, but we want to make sure and be extra safe about that.”

According to the charging documents, Dibble and her friend Jeffrey King were found to be in possession of methamphetamine, heroin and psilocybin mushrooms in February.
