Man With a BAC of .211 Gets Arrested for His 5th DUI in Missoula
Missoula, MT (KGVO-AM News) - On July 23, 2023, a Missoula Police Department officer was patrolling in the area of Russell Street and SW Higgins Avenue when he observed a gold 2005 Toyota Tundra. The officer noticed the Tundra was traveling approximately 10 MPH under the posted speed limit with its passenger side tires partially in the outside lane.
The officer continued to observe the Tundra drift towards the inside lane, with the passenger side tires remaining on or near the white dashed lane divider. The officer observed the vehicle increase its speed and slowly drift from the white line toward the solid yellow line. The Tundra then cross the yellow line and continued to drive on the yellow line. The officer observed the vehicle cross the yellow line two more times before he initiated a traffic stop.
According to court documents, the Tundra continued to drive and it did not appear it had any intention of stopping. The officer activated his patrol siren for a short period of time and then the Tundra eventually came to a stop.
The officer made contact with the driver, 69-year-old Timothy Onslow. Onslow was unable to provide his license, registration, or proof of insurance. The officer observed that Onslow had red and watery eyes and when asked how much he had drunk, Onslow said a few beers.
Then the officer read Onslow the PAST advisory and Onslow provided a .211 BAC sample on the PBT. Onslow was placed under arrest and transported to the Missoula County Jail. The officer also confirmed Onslow has four prior convictions for driving under the influence.
