Police Make Drug Discovery in Closed Missoula Park
Missoula, MT (KGVO-AM News) - On August 3, 2025, at 12:28 AM, a Missoula Police Department officer performed an extra patrol of Silver Park at 900 Cregg Ln. At this time, he observed three individuals under the park pavilion and made contact with them because the park was closed at this time. The officer made contact with the three individuals, finding one to be 30-year-old Jori Hurckes, who had a probation warrant for her arrest.
The officer then contacted the on-call probation officer, who confirmed that Hurckes was to be taken into custody. Further, a search of Hurckes’s backpack and person was requested on behalf of probation.
During the search of Hurckes’s backpack, the officer located an eyeglasses case, which contained a glass pipe with white residue. The officer recognized the items as a pipe used to ingest methamphetamine, based on his training and experience.

Continuing on with the search, the officer located a tooter straw, which he recognized as a device used to snort or smoke illicit drugs. The officer also observed that Hurckes had alcohol prep pads in the front mesh pocket of her backpack. The officer noted these are often used by individuals to clean their skin before injecting dangerous drugs into the body.
According to court documents, officers further located a small baggie with a white crystal substance inside, the contents of which later tested presumptively positive for methamphetamine via the TruNarc.
