Deputy Who Won Discrimination Case Dies
One of three Yellowstone County sheriff deputies who shared a nearly $1 million award in a discrimination case has died.
Deputy Christopher Romero died Tuesday. He was 38. Sheriff Mike Linder says Romero's death appears to have been from natural causes.
In 2010, a federal court jury awarded Romero and two other deputies $945,000 in a lawsuit claiming discrimination and retaliation.
Romero is survived by his wife, 10-year-old twin daughters and an 8-year-old son.
Funeral services are planned Saturday.
