It's 10:27 a.m. on a Tuesday morning and already the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) has emailed me twice (make that three times, another came while I was typing) asking for money. They have been doing this to me for months. At first, President Obama asked me for five dollars, then less than two hours later I got the following message: It's over. It's done. We have no ideas left.
Well, at least they're being honest.

That isn't the only dire sounding email to hit my inbox either. Here are a few more examples of the fear that everyone on the DCCC mailing list has to put up with multiple times a day. Keep in mind that all of these emails are over the course of less than a month. Many of them are said to come directly from Nancy Pelosi, President Obama, Harry Reid, and even the likes of James Carville.

  • Heartbreaking Losses
  • It's over. Zero Chance. Goodbye.
  • Everything we had...it wasn't enough
  • We. Fell. Short.
  • DON'T SEND THAT EMAIL
  • PUMMELED
  • Tragic Conclusion
  • we. will. fail.
  • begging... BEGGING
  • I'm pleading (again)
  • Sadly
  • Kiss any hope goodbye

... and the list goes on, and on, and on.

Lest you think these emails are relegated to the big wigs in D.C, the John Lewis for Congress team has apparently been dipping into the same tactics (though with much less frequency). Here are a few examples:

  • Sorry
  • Terrifying
  • Can't sit this one
  • I'm deeply saddened
  • Serious setback

On a much lighter note, the Amanda Curtis for Senate campaign appears to be taking the high road with emails like Montana Can Make History and Me? In Cosmo? Really?, with the latter referencing an article that appeared in a fashion magazine.

Even if democrats suffer a huge setback in the 2014 elections, fundraisers have set the bar so low that, at this point, even a loss will seem like a victory. At least we won't have to get emails about it anymore.
