County Calls for Volunteer Evacuations Along Clark Fork; Corps of Engineers to Help Stem The Waters
At a 2pm Thursday press conference at the Missoula County Courthouse, officials with the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers and the Sheriff’s Department relayed the latest flood information to the media. Colonel Anthony Wright outlined the actions of the Corps of Engineers, while Sergeant Robert Kennedy with the Sheriff’s Department provided recommendations for volunteer evacuations and current flood conditions. Highlights from that news conference are attached.
The Clark Fork did not reach the high levels that were anticipated, although there is still significant flooding along the river. There will be another news conference on Friday, as officials prepare for the weekend.
