There was dramatic testimony Friday on a bill submitted by Republican Representative Kris Hansen of Havre that would in effect nullify Missoula’s recently enacted anti-discrimination ordinance.Hansen says the Missoula ordinance gives the city courts unprecedented powers, not intended by the Montana Constitution. Hansen says various groups have tried including sexual orientation and gender identity into the human rights act for over 20 years…and the efforts have never been successful.

The bill is set for executive action before the Judiciary Committee Monday.
