Coloring and Photo Contests for MT FWP Fishing Handbook Underway
How cool would it be if your child's artwork was featured in the new Montana fishing regulations booklet?
Heck, how cool would it be if your photography was featured in the new booklet? Well, that could happen, too. This annual contest gives both children and adults opportunities to demonstrate what they think best represents Montanans' love for fishing.
Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks invites adults to start submitting their photos and kids to submit their coloring artwork for the next fishing regulations booklet. What makes this year's contest a little extra special is that with recent changes to Montana's fishing regulations process, winning entries will be displayed in the next booklet for two years instead of one!
All submitted photos will be considered for the contest, but special consideration will be given to photos that highlight the diversity of people and fishing opportunities that Montana has to offer. Montana FWP is always looking for fishing "action" shots, but they are big on scenes depicting families having fun at their favorite fishing spots, too. If you can capture a unique Montana's fishing opportunity, you probably got a chance to be a contender.
For the kids' artwork contest, FWP invites kids 12 and younger to submit their colored drawings of fish that live in Montana.
Rules about photo dimensions, resolution, pixels, photo credit and where to email both your photos and kids' drawings is all posted here. Photos of mounted fish will not be considered.
In addition to having their work displayed on the front and back of the fishing handbook, winners also receive a subscription to Montana Outdoors Magazine and a Montana Outdoors t-shirt.
Entry deadline is October 15, but now is the time to get inspired as you venture out among some of Montana's unique fishing jewels during the upcoming summer months.
