Cold Snap Brings Record Overnight Low Temperatures to Western Montana [AUDIO]
Just how cold was it Tuesday night into Wednesday morning in Western Montana? It hasn't been this cold since 1896.
"We broke a lot of records around western Montana overnight," said National Weather Service meteorologist Bob Nestor on Wednesday afternoon, April 17.
"Missoula got down to 16, which breaks a previous record set back in 1896 of 19 degrees. Kalispell tied a record low of 16 set back in 1968, while Hamilton got down to 16, with 18 in Powell, Idaho," Nestor said.
"The weather will remain unseasonably cool through the weekend, however, by next week by Wednesday or Thursday, we'll have temperatures close to nearly 70 in Missoula," Nestor added.
