AP NEWS--A 23-year-old Butte woman has been charged with deliberate homicide for stabbing a man in the neck with a kitchen knife. The Montana Standard reports Susan Marie Criss made an initial court appearance Tuesday before Justice of the Peace Jimm Kilmer. He set her bail at $100,000.

The Montana Standard writes that either the mother or suspect called 911 following the stabbing on Monday morning. The Butte-Silver Bow County coroner said 49-year-old Mark William Woodger was transported to St. James Healthcare but died early Monday. Criss was treated for minor injuries before being taken to jail. She was appointed a public defender. Officials in that office declined comment on Wednesday.
