I've become a bit of a regular at Brooklyn Bagel & Bakery, and if you haven't tried their authentic Italian pastries, you are missing out.

Just like their bagels are flown in daily from Ess-a-Bagel in New York City, their pastries come straight from Ferrara’s of Little Italy NYC. Ferrara's dates back to a cafe that opened in 1892, building a reputation for high quality and freshness in which the fifth generation of this family business still take pride. Ferrara's was America's first pasticceria (Italian bakery) and espresso bar, and once you've tasted their work, you won't want anyone else's pastries!

The cannoli shells are crisp, hand-rolled, and filled with sweet Ricotta cheese, miniature chocolate chips, and diced candied fruit. And trust me, whether you get a traditional cannoli or the Belgium chocolate version, they melt right in my mouth! Don’t rush the experience ... just let that cannoli melt in your mouth. Holy cannoli!

My absolute favorite, though, is the cheesecakes. Whether you get plain, blueberry, strawberry, blackberry or a seasonal option like cherry and huckleberry .... just nothing like them in the world!! Heavenly crust and creamy filling ... love it! 

Brooklyn Bagel & Bakery also stocks chocolate truffle cake, tiramisu cake, tiramisu cup, rainbow cookies, sfogliatella, and more. You can buy by the slice, by the dozen, by the cake, but they also offer platters with your choice of a variety of pastries, a combination of pastries and bagels, a variety of bagels, or a selection of cheesecakes.
