Bozeman Approves Funding for Sports Fields
BOZEMAN, Mont. (AP) — The Bozeman City Commission has approved spending $7.5 million in parks bond money to build a sports complex on the west side of the city.
The fields would primarily be used for youth soccer and lacrosse, but could also be used for rugby, football, field hockey, ultimate Frisbee and possibly baseball and softball. The sports complex was proposed by the Bozeman Soccer Education Foundation and the Gallatin Valley Lacrosse League. The groups said such a complex could generate millions of dollars for the community.
The commission unanimously passed the proposal on Monday to spend $2.1 million to purchase the 80-acre piece of property, $1.8 million for infrastructure and $3.6 million for building the 22 fields and amenities.
