Blue is the Featured Color in BR Outdoor Journal

In this week's Bitterroot Outdoor Journal, heard Thursday mornings about 7:45 on KLYQ, Bob Danley features three blue natural things when you venture out and about in the Bitterroot Valley. He also mentioned Heartleaf Amica, (which is yellow and makes you cheerful by just looking at it).

Blue birds include the Lazuli Bunting, which looks like a Western Bluebird and has a distinct call - a high-pitched "where-where, here-here, there-there." Blue butterflies include the Arrowhead Blue, which has arrow markings under the wing and the upper part of the wing is blue (see photo above). You can find it during sunny, warm days. And, the blue wildflower is the Wild Hyacinth, with a blue tubular flower atop a tall stem (one-to-three feet tall).
