Medical Issue Caused Crash Near Stevensville
Authorities say a 61-year-old man suffered a medical condition that caused him to crash his SUV northwest of Stevensville.
Montana Highway Patrol Sgt. Ken Breidenbach says William James Fears was driving 3 mph or less on Stevensville Cutoff Road when he crashed sometime Friday morning. The vehicle landed upside down on a grassy patch right on the edge of the Bitterroot River.

Backers of a coal swap involving a Montana Indian tribe say they have lowered the amount of fuel the government would have to turn over to a Texas company as part of the exchange.
Federal officials had criticized the deal as lopsided. Houston-based Great Northern Properties stood to get about 150 million tons of recoverable coal, versus 110 million tons for the tribe.
