The University of Montana School of Business Administration, in partnership with the Learning by Giving Foundation, is now accepting grant proposals from Missoula County nonprofit organizations. UM students in the business school course "Individual and Corporate Philanthropy" will distribute grants ranging from $2,000 to $10,000 to eligible nonprofits.

UM office for Civic Engagement Director Andrea Vernon says the students have identified 3 different needs around the community where the funding will go; youth leadership, animals and people with disabilities. To be eligible, an organization must be a registered 501(c) (3)

Proposals are due by 5 p.m. Tuesday, November 8th . Students in the class will review the proposals and determine the nonprofits that will receive the funds, which will be awarded at a special ceremony on December 12th. (my interview with Vernon is attached below)
