The typical family has a closet dedicated to shoes we've forgotten about and bags we don't need. Gently used backpacks that your kids only used for a season, a million totes from all of the fun runs, duffel bags that are just taking up space. We'd love to take those off your hands to give to children in need.

When children are removed from the home for any variety of reasons, it's typically a last minute, hurried process. Many of these children, aging from babies to teens, end up throwing their belongings in a garbage bag to take to foster care or a temporary living situation. Sadly, it's not uncommon for them to be moved several times with these garbage bags in hand.

That's where you come in. While you're holiday shopping, you might consider picking up a backpack or piece of luggage to donate. And if you're feeling extra festive, you might add some basic toiletries like a toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant or feminine hygiene products. We will be accepting bag donations from December 12th to 24th at The Sweat Shop cycling studio, 113 West Broadway, behind the toy store, next to the mural at Broadway and Higgins. All donations will be given to the local office that places children who are removed from the home.

BONUS: All generous donors will get a coin good for a free gym class and be included in a drawing for an amazing holiday gift basket filled with goodies from Wear Your Roots, Hunter Bay Coffee, Sushi Hana, The Sweat Shop and Missoula Bike Source!
