$1.25 Million Grant to Fund Environmental Health Education at UM [AUDIO]
The University of Montana's Center for Environmental Health Sciences just received a grant of $1.25 million dollars from the National Institutes of Health to support environmental health education for thousands of middle and high school students in Montana, Idaho and Alaska.
Professor Andrij Holian, Director of the Center for Environmental Health Sciences says the project called the Clean Air and Healthy Homes Program builds on CEHS’s successful Air Toxics Under the Big Sky Program, which was funded by SEPA in 2003.
Teachers will be eligible for up to 12 graduate credits that can be applied toward a new online master’s program currently being developed by UM. It is anticipated that the first cohort of teachers will be enrolled in the program next summer.
