On Monday night, Missoula Police were called to a residence in the 3500 block of Mullan road where it was reported that a male was bleeding from his head. According to Police Public Information Officer Travis Welsh, officers arrived and learned that the man was a victim of a strong arm robbery.

“The male described several suspects that he thought may have been involved, possibly up to as many as five,” said Welsh. “He said that they had knocked him down, hit and kicked him. He did have injuries consistent with that report. He was eventually transported to the hospital via ambulance for treatment of his injuries.”

Welsh says the investigation by officers on the scene led them to three suspects who were located under the Reserve Street Bridge.

“They are identified as 36-year-old Patrick Gilbert, 22-year-old Tatiana Gutierrez and 34-year-old Matthew Jones,” Welsh said. “The car that the three were occupying was registered in the state of Oregon. It is unknown if they have any residence status here in the state of Montana. It is likely that they are either transient of homeless in the area.”

Welsh says all three individuals were arrested. The extent of the man’s injuries is unknown at this point, but they were severe enough that he was unable to be interviewed at the hospital.
