Smoke from several fires is settling into the Bitterroot and Missoula Valleys. The Saddle Mountain complex of fires has mushroomed over 17,000 acres in just the last few days. I spoke with Public Information Officer for the Saddle Mountain Complex Fires Jesse Bender about this rapidly moving wildland fire. That interview is attached.

I spoke with Paula Short, Fire Information officer assigned to the West Riverside Fire from the Department of Natural Resources and Conservation who provided us with an update on the fire that broke out Monday evening. That interview is attached.

The National Weather Service reported over 2000 lightning strikes in western Montana Wednesday and Wednesday night, and with lightning, comes the risk of wildfire. I spoke with Public Information Officer for the Department of Natural Resources and Conservation Paula Short on Thursday afternoon about the possibility of fires from all that lightning.
