Montana Democrats have criticized republicans for taking a 4 day break at this crucial point in the Legislative Session. Republicans completed a budget proposal vastly different then Governor Schweitzer’s. Opponents of the Republican plan say it cuts too much from Health and Human Services. Republicans do not have enough votes to override a veto. Representative Champ Edmunds says that’s why legislators left the Capitol and hopefully cooler heads will prevail.

 The Governor and the Republican majority have traded blows throughout the session, with a very western theme- complete with branding irons.
