This week's gas report offers another rise in Montana's pump prices. The price per gallon jumped up 9.2 cents to make the average price for a gallon of gas in the state climb to $3.75. The national average is still ahead of Montana at $3.91/g, but Montana's price is catching up quickly as the national growth rate slowed to a 1.2 cent increase. Price decreases in California and Chicago have some analysts optimistic that the price is nearing it's peak. The price for a gallon of gas in Montana is 17. 8 cents higher that it was last year and a full 33.8 cents more expensive than it was just a month ago.
