Missoula Police Respond to Criticism in The Handling of Cash Hyde’s Death [AUDIO] [DOCUMENT]

As KGVO News reported Thursday morning, 4 year-old Cash Hyde passed away Wednesday night after a life-long battle with brain cancer.
Missoula police were notified of the death through a caregiver, and as required by law, sent officers to the Hyde’s home to investigate before contacting the county coroner. Captain Scott Hoffman said that the Hyde family reacted negatively to the presence of the police in their home just after the death of their child, and all day, the police department has fielded calls and emails from individuals as far away as Maine, criticizing their response.
Missoula Police Chief Mark Muir spoke with Mr. Hyde on Thursday and assured him that he would look into the department’s response, and in addition, would provide a police escort for the child’s funeral procession.
