Authorities have released the name of a 56-year-old Laurel woman who died after losing control of her vehicle on an icy stretch of U.S. Highway 310 and sliding into oncoming traffic.

The Yellowstone County Coroner's Office identified the victim Monday as Soy Chin Chew.

The Montana Highway Patrol says Chew was traveling south on a curve when her car went into the northbound lane and was struck on the passenger side by an SUV at about 12:30 a.m. Sunday.

She died at the scene and the 41-year-old Jackson, Wyo., man driving the SUV was injured and taken to a hospital in Billings.

Police say speed is likely a factor in the crash.
