Today's Health Talk focused on the new monthly community event series at St. Pats starting Tuesday October 20th.  Each event will focus on a different health care topic or trend taking shape at the regional or national level, and the work of Providence Health & Services Western Montana. Topics slated for the coming months include patient-centered medical homes, palliative care and women’s health. Free and open to the public, all talks will feature a panel of special guests including physicians, patients and other business leaders. After a brief panel discussion, audience members will have an opportunity to ask questions of the panelists. All talks will be moderated by Sally Mauk, News Director Emeritus of Montana Public Radio.

The series kicks off tomorrow night will feature a panel entitled, “Transforming Health Care.” Panelists will discuss some of today’s top health care trends – digitization of medical records, patient engagement, disease prevention, insurance expansion, among others – and how they might transform the future of care in Western Montana.

All events will take place on Tuesdays from 5-6:30 p.m. at Providence St. Patrick Hospital’s Broadway Building, Conference Center 1. For more information regarding monthly topics and panelists, visit http://montana.providence.org/events/st-patrick-hospital/public-events/community-outreach-series/.
