A fire broke out at a home in the 3000 block of Shilling Street in Missoula this morning, April 20, with reports that people were trapped inside.

First responders got the call at around 1:40 a.m. and were able to knock-down the blaze, but not before the fire burned through the rear of the house, the roof and the stairwell.

Three engines and a ladder truck were called to fight the fire, and luckily, an on-site ambulance found no major injuries at the scene.

The cause of the fire and the cost of the damages are still under investigation.
