Local publisher and author Dale Burk will be reading from his new book "A Brush With a Wild Thing or Two in Montana" at the Ravalli County Museum Thursday evening, May 31. He'll read and sign books, starting at 6 p.m. in the main display area on the second floor of the museum at 3rd and Bedford in Hamilton.

Burk told KLYQ that the book contains his personal experiences in Montana's great outdoors that have influenced his life, and his unique connections with other people whose values were shaped by time in the forested mountains of the state. To give you an idea of the contents, here are some chapter titles - Being Chased by Lightning, A Place named after the Great Bear, Big Fish in the Frying Pan, It Ain't Stew without Rutabaga, and The River of My Dreams. Burk is a former newspaper reporter and is a successful publisher in Stevensville, specializing in local authors' projects in history, outdoors and travel.
