GREAT FALLS, Mont. (AP) — BNSF Railway Co. plans to put back into service idled rail cars that have been stored on tracks near Big Sandy and between Great Falls and Cascade.

BNSF spokesman Gus Melonas tells the Great Falls Tribune that the flatbed cars used to ship intermodal containers were stored before Christmas because of lack of demand.

Now demand is back up and the railroad will start by moving out 14 train lengths of cars near Big Sandy over the next few months.

BNSF plans to follow that up by moving about six train lengths of cars stored on track between Great Falls and Cascade by midsummer if demand keeps up.
