Authorities Seize More than $250,000 From Headie’s, Ball

Two Billings businesses have been ordered to forfeit more than $250,000 after a two-year investigation involving synthetic marijuana sales.

The Billings Gazette reports that federal and local law enforcement say in court documents that the money is from the illegal sale of spice, a synthetic form of marijuana.

U.S. District Judge Susan Watters granted the motions by the U.S. Attorney's Office asking Ball Adult Books & Video to forfeit $211,374 and Headie's Tobacco & Accessories to turn over $20,348.

Billings Police Department searched the businesses last July. There have not been any arrests.

Attorney Sandy Selvey represents Ball and declined to comment. Court records say the business did not admit any liability.

A representative from Headie's could not be reached for comment.
