Yellowstone National Park plans on opening two Montana entrances to automobile travel this week.

"Visitors eager to enter Yellowstone in early spring can start entering the park by both West Yellowstone and Mammoth Hot Springs, the roads are plowed open and the summer seasons about to get underway," said YNP Spokeswoman Amy Bartlett.

Bartlett says this is a typical time of year for the park to open, but says it will be another few weeks before roads can be cleared in many areas of the park. That means that about half of the park will be closed for another week or so.

Those that take advantage of the partial opening will get an extra benefit on Saturday and Sunday when park entrance fees for all visitors will be waived.
