Missoula, MT (KGVO-AM News) - On January 2, 2026, officers were dispatched to the Broadway Inn regarding 32-year-old Tarina Ask’s unwilling to leave a hotel room when asked to do so by staff. Ask was not a paying guest in Room 110. According to staff, the last occupant of the room was a male who paid for services and left the morning of December 31, 2025.
A housekeeping manager asked Ask three times to exit the room, but she refused to leave. She told Ask that she would call the police. Ask stated, “Go ahead.” Missoula Police Department officers staged an entry team outside the room.
Officers issued multiple commands to Ask to open the door.” She opened the door and was placed under arrest. Officers confirmed that Ask did not rent the room and did not pay for Broadway Inn’s services.

While searching the room, officers found a brownish crystalline substance that was on a piece of paper on top of the toilet water tank. The substance was seized and determined to be (presumptively positive) as methamphetamine using the True Narc Instrument.
Ask committed the theft of services in that officers determined based on their observations that she used the bed, bathtub, toilet and room heating. Officers obtained a search warrant for a backpack found within the room. The backpack contained a three-inch purple colored pipe that is consistent with those utilized to smoke methamphetamine.
The bathroom was further observed to be in a state of disarray. There was a red substance with dried blood on the toilet and additional substance on the floor that appeared to be blood.
