Wolf Trap Restrictions Get Pre-Approval

Montana Fish Wildlife and Parks has given initial approved to a new set of rules for Wolf trappers to follow this trapping season.

FWP Spokeswoman Vivica Crowser says that "what they have approved tentatively is to require an 8 pound minimum trap pan tension for the wolf trapping season this year. The purpose of that is to help minimize non target captures. Particularly lynx, martin, and fishers."

The proposal is not yet finalized and will be open for comment for the next 30 days. Fish wildlife and Parks will take a final vote on the matter in November.
