A Whitefish man who stabbed his boyfriend to death with a pair of scissors in August 2018 has been sentenced to 10 years in prison. Ryan Cody Lamb entered a plea to negligent homicide in December. Under the so-called “Alford Plea,” Lamb did not admit guilt but acknowledged prosecutors had enough evidence to gain a conviction. He was sentenced Wednesday. Lamb was initially tried on a charge of deliberate homicide in the death of 31-year-old Ryan Nixon, but a jury could not reach a verdict. Lamb said he stabbed Nixon in self-defense.
