People are flocking to Montana in droves. We are seeing more and more of them coming here every day. It's because Montana is a great place to live. We have tried to keep it  a secret for a long time, but it just doesn't seem to be working for us. The latest survey from Wallet Hub is probably not going to help us out too much. A couple Montana cities have made their "Best Small Cities In America List" for 2022. They judged the criteria on a few categories: affordability, economic health, education and health, quality of life, and safety. The higher the percentile the "better" the city according to them. If a city ranks in the 99th percentile that means it is in the top 1% of small cities in the U.S. You would think that almost all of our small cities would have made the list, but there are only a few.

Great Falls

Coming in lowest in their survey is Great Falls ranking in at the 21st percentile. Great Falls is an amazing town and ranked higher in the affordability category and even higher in the quality of life category, a lot of people can argue that "quality of life" is one of the most important qualities for a small city. Their lowest scores were in economic health and safety.

Helena

Our State Capital Helena came in next on the list with a ranking 58th percentile ranking. Their biggest attributes according to the report are the economic health of the city and quality of life. Their lowest scores were in affordability and safety.

Missoula

Next on the list is Missoula with a 69th percentile score. Home to the University of Montana. According to the survey they scored highest in quality of life. Their low scores came in affordability and safety.

Bozeman

Bozeman ranked highest on the list out of all Montana small cities. Does this come as a surprise? Bozeman is one of the fastest-growing cities in Montana and it doesn't look like it is going to be slowing down anytime soon. Bozeman had a 92 percentile ranking. They ranked the highest in quality of life and economic health. Anyone that knows Montana will know that Bozeman scored the lowest in affordability by a lot. With this latest survey, look for more and more people to be coming to Montana.
