MISSOULA, Mont. (AP) — Fire Chief Bruce Charles of the West End Volunteer Fire Department says the agency has resolved its grievances with the Montana Highway Patrol.

As part of the plan the Federal Highway Administration will give a two-day, federally funded workshop at Fort Harrison in Helena, possibly as early as July.

The West End and St. Regis volunteer fire departments threatened to stop responding to crashes in Mineral County unless the patrol agreed to treat the volunteers with more courtesy.

St. Regis officials settled their dispute last week.

The Missoulian in a story published Thursday reports that officials held a teleconference Wednesday.
