Violent Crimes and a Drive-By Shooting Highlighted Missoula Crime This Week
The Missoula County Attorney’s Office filed 18 new criminal complaints this week. According to County Attorney Kirsten Pabst, there were several cases that involved some form of violence.
“In one, the defendant allegedly confronted the victim in a convenience store with a shotgun,” Pabst said. “In another, the defendant allegedly punched an acquaintance and then brandished a knife out near the Poverello Center. In a third, the defendant slashed at a victim with a box cutter. Two separate individuals were charged for their involvement in an event in which they were evicted from a party and then tried to get back in the residence.”
Pabst said there were a handful of criminal endangerment cases as well.
“Two defendants were charged for their involvement in an alleged drive-by shooting,” Pabst said. “There were two other criminal endangerment cases and one involved a chase in Missoula. There were a handful of property crimes and three new theft cases. In one, the defendant allegedly took over $5,000 in merchandise from Walmart. That one appears to be drug related.”
Pabst highlighted two additional cases.
“Preston Rossbach was charged with tampering with witnesses for allegedly attempting to intimidate witnesses who testified in his recent homicide trial,” Pabst said. “Another man was charged with tampering with evidence for allegedly using a fake penis to provide a urinalysis.”
The Missoula County Attorney’s Office also filed a sexual abuse of children case and put a warrant out for that individual.
