University of Montana President Royce Engstrom brought members of his university cabinet to Hamilton Wednesday to observe operations at two University associated organizations - The new 2-year Bitterroot College and the Daly Mansion.

Following tours of the facilities and meeting with the Hamilton college's steering committee, Engstrom hosted a Town Hall meeting centered on Bitterroot College issues. There was discussion with community members about the current programs and possibilities of new courses in the future.

The two-year college has seen rapid growth, according to Administrator Victoria Clark. The classes have been well received. The acceptance of the school by the valley has already caused addition of some classrooms and purchase of more teaching equipment at the Bitterroot Entrepreneur Center in Hamilton.

Many students are using the Hamilton classes as a springboard to University of Montana classes in Missoula.

Engstrom is encouraged with the rapid growth of the college to over 200 students in this session.

He spoke to the economic development of Western Montana and the fact that the college is just beginning, with plenty of room for growth.
