Montana's economy improved significantly in 2012, and 2013's forecast is hopeful as well, except for another fiscal cliff that looms in the near future.

Director of the University of Montana Bureau of Business and Economic Research Patrick Barkey says early March will tell the tale of whether or not government officials will be able to resolve the issue of raising the debt ceiling so borrowing to fund government services can continue.

If they cannot, Montana's economic future, as well as that of the nation and also the global economy is unsure, and markets hate insecurity.

The bureau is offering a series of economic outlook seminars in nine cities, including Missoula on February 1st at the Hilton Garden Inn.
