The University of Montana is hosting the 16th Annual Easter Eggstravaganza on Saturday. Event Coordinator Andrea Lewis recommends that people get there early so they can enjoy all the things the event has to offer.

“While they are waiting for the hunt to start there will be mascots out there from around the community, dancing with the kids, music, a fire truck on display, a food truck, and a bounce house,” said Lewis. “There will definitely be lots of activities to keep people busy before and after the hunt.”

Lewis says that the Garden Of Read’n and other businesses in the Missoula community played a big role in putting this event together.

“They purchased 30,000 eggs and they are filled with prizes and goodies,” Lewis said. “We also have donations from different community groups and businesses around town. For example, there will be coupons for carousel rides, cookies from Bernice’s Bakery, or tokens for free ice cream from Big Dipper, Dairy Queen, and Basken Robbins. There are a lot of local goodies out there in the eggs as well.”

This event is free and open to the public. The hunt begins right a 1 p.m. at the UM Oval.
