Mystery Unfolds As Truck Driver Loses Companion On The Road
Missoula, MT (KGVO-AM News) - John Doe is a truck driver who lives in Austin, Texas. Doe paid 47-year-old Brianna Fritz to drive his Audi passenger vehicle in tandem with him, so that he could move his vehicle and belongings back to Texas. Doe agreed to pay Fritz and to fly her back home to Washington once the move was complete.
Fritz does not own a cellphone, so Doe gave her a radio to communicate with him. According to Doe, Fritz had his cell phone number and the numbers of mutual acquaintances if she needed to contact him.
While traveling through Idaho, Fritz unexpectedly took an exit and disappeared. Doe lost contact with Fritz and reported his vehicle stolen to the Kootenai County Sheriff's Office. Doe said that he was warned by Fritz’s ex-husband that she is unreliable.

An Officer Tracks Down Fritz
On September 17, 2025, the Missoula Police Department received a call of a female attempting to trespass motor vehicles. The reporting party provided the female’s description. An officer responded to the 2900 block of Expo Parkway and located Fritz sitting on the ground. She wore no shoes and was playing with dirt. When questioned by the officer, she rambled about various matters that were non-responsive.
Then Fritz provided her identification. She pointed to a parking lot and claimed that she drove the blue Audi parked near her. The officer ran a license check on the Audi and learned that it was reported stolen in Idaho.
Officers also found the key fob in the vehicle. The seat was pushed forward, indicating that it was adjusted in a manner to accommodate a driver of Fritz’s stature. A pair of female knee-high boots were also located on the ground near the vehicle.

A Witness Explains What He Saw
A construction worker reported that he observed Fritz wandering around the area by herself for several hours. The officer read Fritz her Miranda rights. She agreed to speak and advised that the Audi was driven to the location by her ex-husband and that she was traveling with him. The worker did not see her associate with any males. She did admit that the boots near the vehicle were hers.
According to court documents, Fritz purposefully or knowingly exerted unauthorized control over the Audi owned by Doe, and she acted with purpose to deprive Doe of his property. She is currently being charged with felony theft of property of a light vehicle. This case was filed directly into District Court, and her bond was $10,000.
