I have talked and posted a lot about 'Mouse the Dog', one of my fishing buddies. His owner Steve saved him from horrible previous owners and they have become some of my favorite fishing people. Unfortunately Mouse has left us so I wanted to share some of the many photos I have of him.

He was the best boat dog, never once complained and he was his happiest on the water especially if you caught a fish. I never caught enough fish for Mouse and I regret that. He didn't care though, he just wanted love and that was something he got a lot of.

He was not treated well with his previous owners in Texas, where Steve saved him, and with that treatment followed health problems. I have seen Steve with bad knees and heart carry that dog everywhere in his late age, helping him in the boat but as soon as he was in that boat Mouse was in his house and loved it.

Steve and Mouse did everything together, from hunting, camping, boating, flying and so much more. I always asked Steve "Where is Mouse?".

The world would be a nicer place if everyone had the ability to love as unconditionally as a dog. ―M.K. Clinton (author, The Returns)

A sweet soul, a best friend and the boat captain gone but not forgotten.
