Missoula, MT (KGVO-AM News) - On or about April 7, 2026, at approximately 8:15 p.m., Missoula Police Department Officers were dispatched to a physical altercation in progress at the Poverello Center. Officers arrived on scene and learned that the altercation was currently inside the lobby. Officers went inside and found several people on top of a male holding him down. This male was later identified as 52-year-old Douglas Bradbury.

Officers ordered the people off of Bradbury and then took immediate control over his custody. While holding Bradbury down, Bradbury yelled profanities and racial slurs at officers and the people around him. Officers grabbed Bradbury’s arms, put them behind his back, and secured him in handcuffs. Officers escorted Bradbury out of the building and to the front a patrol vehicle where he was searched incident to arrest without issue.

Following Bradbury’s arrest, an officer went back inside the Poverello and obtained a statement from a witness. She explained that she was at the front desk of the Poverello when Bradbury came in and was just “going off on everybody.”

Then the officer interviewed another witness who explained that Bradbury came off the street and then immediately began yelling and calling residents and staff “b*****s”. Then the officer spoke to another witness and resident at the Poverello Center. They explained that Bradbury came in and yelled at an older lady. Bradbury then grabbed a computer from behind the front desk, smashed it, and destroyed it.

Officers then reviewed the security footage. Bradbury had been trespassed from the Poverello Center and the staff was ordering him to leave. Bradbury then gets irate with staff, and at one point, pointed his index finger inches away from a staff member’s face. Bradbury is then seen picking up a computer monitor from behind the front desk and slamming it several times on the counter.

The surveillance further shows a resident begin to yell at Bradbury and point towards the exit as if to gesture him away. The resident and Bradbury continue to yell at one another, and both are seen getting in each other's faces. Both begin to shove one another and Bradbury then stumbles into a female, tripping over her leg. Bradbury then turns his hit backwards and suddenly charges the resident, grabbing onto her body. The resident then grabs onto Bradbury and pushes him into the ground where he is then held there until officers arrive on scene.
